Rock Cap Moss - 5 Square Feet

Rock cap moss, is a green nonflowering enduring plant that is located in damp places that obtain inadequate sunlight. Among these are boulders and several rocks based in wooded river banks and lakeshores. When the Rock cap moss is kept in a garden, it can grow on brick, planters, stone, or everything else it will hang on to. Rock cap moss grows in thick mass that looks like spots of green fur. It is a distinctive kind of moss in a way that it does not need any soil for it to grow. Its tiny roots on the bottom make the moss grow in different places with ease. It is indigenous in North America, and it's located everywhere in the continent in forests.

Rock cap moss is easy to transplant into places of shade, causing it to be an excellent plant for starting growers to cope with. Even though the plant opts for growing in the shade, it can endure an average amount of sun, considering that it gets adequate moisture. Rock cap moss is mainly a maintenance-free grassland replacement for shady grounds where grass can't grow. Since they get all their nutrients from the air, moss plants need only sufficient moisture, shade, and acidic soil to flourish.

Rock cap moss goes inactive to succumb and shoots back to life after the situations become perfect. The growers find this plant great to shade places of bared soil where the grass has a hard time flourishing. The most excellent way to transplant the plant is by crumbling it apart before putting it in place. Rock cap moss shouldn't be placed in direct sunlight even with sufficient moisture, and the plant turns yellow. Rock cap moss's beauty and attractiveness are to design a green carpet on places where the grass can't grow.

This Moss is a different moss because it needs no soil to grow. This moss can be seen growing along brick walls, walkways, planters, rocks, and anything it can adhere to. The uppermost part is a bright green color and somewhat flat in appearance. The underside has little roots. The moss can gather all the nutrients it needs by air and moisture. This moss prefers shade but can also grow in moderate sun as long as it gets adequate moisture. It becomes thick and in clusters or clumps. The moss can purchase it, and once one receives it, it can be broken apart, which helps the growing to start. Plant this moss when the temperature is stable. Avoid planting it in the late fall or early spring because the weather is not at its best and will fluctuate too much. This moss needs a stable temperature climate so that it can grow well. This moss gets its name because of how it looks and grows; it grows best along the top of rocks. Water this most frequently in the first few months until well established. Once this moss gets good growth, it is easy to grow and maintain.

Best Terrarium Moss!!

I have been looking for the PERFECT terrarium moss for my fire-bellied toads and I do believe that I have found it! This Rock Cap Moss has been excellent in texture, color, and ease of installation. The price was great and it arrived in a timely manner. I ordered the smallest quantity, which turned out to be the exact amount that I needed for my terrarium (20-gallon tank.) It wasn't crunchy dry like the stuff I used to buy at the pet stores. Instead it was just dry enough but still had its vibrant green color and I soaked each piece and then squeezed them out (not all the way) before installation. I have been misting it each day and so far so good. I love it and my toads love it! It actually matches perfectly with their little fairytale background that has moss in the picture. I will definitely be ordering more when it's time to replace. Thank you so much!! :)
